‘Desert Faces’, Exhibition and book launch, London, England
The Silent Witnesses of the Niger Drought book was launched at Albion, the Norman Foster designed gallery in Hester Rd London. Along with the launch was an accompanying photographic exhibition and charity auction. More than $250,000 was raised and will help fund a three year water and sanitation project with UNICEF in Niger. This initial investment will enable wells to be built in twelve villages bringing clean water to over 12,000 people. Niger has the highest child mortality rate in the world, rates of suffering that are comparable to conflict zones and to the worst emergencies in the world.
